Association La Red
A place of encounter
The association La Red was founded in 2015 by five young people who wanted to create a place of encounter and welcome for people who had recently arrived in Fribourg. It also promotes peer-to-peer exchange between people from different cultural backgrounds.

The organization’s activities include
- weekly language classes
- weekly meals prepared with leftovers from the markets
- setting up intercultural tandems
- artistic workshops

Given that we have to cover fixed monthly costs (rent and electricity), we depend on private donations to enable us to continue our undertaking.

Drinking a coffee, visiting a museum or dealing with administrative formalities: the activities shared by Awet Teklu, a young man of Eritrean origin, and Sophie Walker, from Fribourg, are varied.
Launched recently, the integration tandem project created by the La Red association in Fribourg is proving a great success.

Location
La Red is an intercultural meeting place located in downtown Fribourg (Planche-Inférieure 18).
We rent the facilities of the house “La Vannerie”, which offer sufficient space for a variety of activities. The proximity of the Sarine river also makes it perfect for outdoor activities.

En 2020 j’ai écrit un récit personnel sur mon parcours de migration depuis mon arrivée en Suisse. Dès le premier jour j’ai cherché toutes les possibilités pour m’intégrer le plus rapidement et le mieux possible. C’est cette étape depuis mon arrivée en Suisse que j’aimerais développer dans prochain récit. Je vois à la Red l’occasion d’approfondir les différentes étapes d’intégration par lesquelles tout migrant doit passer.
Ayant moi-même vécu un parcours migratoire, j’ai eu envie de mieux comprendre les enjeux de l’intégration pour des migrants et requérants d’asile. Le sujet étant complexe et vaste, je vais me concentrer sur le canton de Fribourg. Tout cela m’a permis de me faire de nombreux amis, de connaître le fonctionnement des associations grâce à la Red
➢ La RED : un lieu d’accueil et de rencontre pour personnes de tous les milieux et contextes culturels. L’espace est proposé par la Red. A travers les repas populaires, les différentes activités et les projets. La Red accomplit sa mission d’inclusion sociale.
Je remercie infiniment l’équipe de la Red pour leur temps, leur grand soutien qui apporte des exploits professionnels et sociaux aux personnes réfugiées.
