Association La Red
A place of encounter
The association La Red was founded in 2015 by five young people who wanted to create a place of encounter and welcome for people who had recently arrived in Fribourg. It also promotes peer-to-peer exchange between people from different cultural backgrounds.

The organization’s activities include
- weekly language classes
- weekly meals prepared with leftovers from the markets
- setting up intercultural tandems
- artistic workshops

Given that we have to cover fixed monthly costs (rent and electricity), we depend on private donations to enable us to continue our undertaking.

Drinking a coffee, visiting a museum or dealing with administrative formalities: the activities shared by Awet Teklu, a young man of Eritrean origin, and Sophie Walker, from Fribourg, are varied.
Launched recently, the integration tandem project created by the La Red association in Fribourg is proving a great success.
